First PPDP set to go

After a month in the “idea” stage, the People’s Playlist Dance Party is finally going to happen. We have a DJ (Sean) and a host venue (the Gladstone Tavern) and a date (Friday February 2, 2018 at 8:00 p.m.).

The Gladstone has kindly offered their space for us to dance ’til midnight, purchase drinks from their well-stocked bar (there will be WINE), and enjoy their food which, I’m told, includes some very excellent nachos. The organizers will be providing some complementary snacks.

The Gladstone is a clean, very large, and recently renovated classic “tavern” venue that features a huge dance floor and several pool tables. As you might expect, this is a 19+ event. Buying a ticket does not exempt you from being carded if our hosts suspect you’re underage. It’s also a semi-private party– everyone needs an advance ticket. But everyone is welcome! Feel free to spread the word to your friends and social networks.

In keeping the democratic theme of the party, only the ones who show up get to pick the music. To encourage people to show up, there’s a small charge for tickets. For five bucks you get add your 20-song playlist to the pool. We guarantee that everyone will hear at least one song, no matter how obscure, from the list they submit.
